SIMPSON FILES FOR DIVORCE

LOS ANGELES -- Us Weekly is the first to report that Jessica Simpson officially filed for divorce from her estranged husband Nick Lachey this afternoon in Los Angeles Superior Court. In documents obtained first by Us Weekly, Simpson cites ''irreconcilable differences'' as the reason for the divorce and cites Nov. 23 as the date of separation.
Jeez, Jessica, you couldn't at least give a shot? There goes your career and reputation--if the general populace (your fans) weren't already on Nick's side, they are now....
