Skincare product favorites
Ok, so I am totally addicted to "Jolie in NYC"-- this blog is GREAT for postings on things most important in life: Hollywood gossip and beauty products.
Since I am totally a beauty product junkie and a shopping whore (oh yes, I'll admit it!) I figured I would list some of my current favorites in a succession of posts....
Skincare
Facewash: I am absolute in love with Clinical Formula Pumice Cleanser. This is seriously the best facewash if you have a tendency to breakout. I went through a pretty bad breakout for about 4 months, and I started using this and I haven't had more than a miniscule zit since then. It has benzoyl peroxide in it (2.5%) so daily use keeps your skin clear. The little pumice granules are a great exfoliant, and your skin is so smooth after you use it. Plus it is nice to kind of have a 3-in-1 cleanser (cleanser, blemish treatment, and scrub). Now, the only place I found it was at my dermatologist's office, and it is a little pricey, $22 for an 8oz bottle. BUT, I have been using it for 3 months now and I am not even half way through the bottle. I only use it once a night--no need to overdry the skin.
Moisturizer: Since I was 12 I have used Oil of Olay daily...it's never irritated my skin, and it has a built in sunscreen. Then I went to Kiehl's because I thought I needed to go to something pricier, and all the magazines claimed it was wonderful. And I do really really like it, and I used it for about a year and half. But do I need to spend $50 a bottle when it does the same thing as my tried and true Oil of Olay Complete with SPF 15? Nope.
Eye Cream: to be honest, I haven't really found one that has blown me away. I do really like Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado and their Abyssine Eye Cream (Kiehl's). No crow's feet yet (knock on wood, Thank GOD!!) but not sure if that's because of the eye cream or because I am vigilant about wearing sunglasses...
Eye Makeup Remover: Almay Non-Oily Eye Makeup remover pads. These are fantastic! I discovered these through my college roommate freshman year (that was 1996, scary!). Like her I didn't like using Mom's tried and true cold cream (which leaves this disgusting film on your contacts and makes the world look like you have goggles on). These are individual little pre-moistened pads that take your make up off completely, and your eye isn't irritated afterwards. The best part is these are great if you have to remove current eye makeup to re-apply new! No oily residue that makes your eyeshadow look clumpy.
Ok, more to come, but need to watch Las Vegas now so that I can drool over Josh Duhamel....
