A few of my new fav beauty products...
Ok, I definitely a self-diagnosed beauty product junkie, but as of late I haven't been experimenting as much....but I have found a few new products that have held my attention.....
1. Philosophy's Hope in Jar Moisturizer: Ok, I know it's been on Oprah's favorite things, but I am
just now discovering it. I had gotten off the expensive moisturizer kick since I discovered my good old Oil of Olay worked just the same as Kiehl's, so I couldn't justify spending 35 buckaroos for a 2oz jar of cream. However, this stuff literally fell into my lap, free of charge. My boss is a huge fan of the Philosophy brand, and had an extra jar she wasn't going to use. Voila, new moisturizer!I have to say, I already love this stuff!! It has lactic acid in it, which seems to be fading the little red marks left over from zits, and the texture and tone of my skin has improved dramatically. I've only been using it for a few days, but I'm hooked. You gotta try this stuff!
2. Aveda's Smoothing Fluid -- this little bottle o' serum is really wonderful at smoothing away
the fly-aways. I have almost gotten all of my layers grown out, and this stuff has done wonders for keeping my hair sleek and super super shiny...I think it even has lavender, probably my favorite smell of all time. Now, it's pricey, something like $24 for a small bottle, but you only use 2 squirts. I swear this stuff will last you at least a couple of years. Oh, it works PARTICULARLY well when you are using a flat iron to straighten your hair.3. Boscia Lavender Blotting linens -- So it's about 180 degrees here in Texas, and the last thing I
want to do is apply more make-up to cover up the inevitable shine that appears the minute you walk out into the blinding sun and crushing heat. These blotting papers are great -- they are larger than some of the others on the market, take off the shine, and leave your makeup intact. Word to the wise, do not use Philosophy's blotting papers -- too small and they take off all your makeup.4. Lorac's Sheer wash lip and Cheek stain: this is a brand-new discovery. It's summer, and I
really don't like wearing lip-stick. Glosses even feel too sticky and heavy. So it was time to try a stain; something I could put on in the morning, maybe add a little lip balm to for some shine, and forget about it. This stain, which I got in Sheer Emotion, works great. It brightens up my natural lip color without being over the top, and it stays on forever. The only drawback is try not to blend it using your fingers--it will stain those as well and takes awhile to fade.
